Borderlands 2 might have been released over 8 months ago, but it’s still going incredibly strong and there’s a new batch of DLC set to hit soon. Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep is a role playing game withing a role playing game: that’s right, this is Inception level DLC.
Publisher 2K has released a new gameplay trailer, showing the first five minutes of the new content. It begins with Tina talking with the characters from the original Borderlands around a tabletop role playing game. There’s some back and forth shop talk, with Tina’s usual style (though no ebonics, those sensitive types got their wish) before the game begins properly.
Suddenly the player is dropped into a sunny world, that Tina re-describes as dark and foreboding, with the world changing at her command. Players are soon facing off against skeletons and dragons with much more in store as you get deeper into the new campaign. It’s all DnD themed, so if you’re a role player, there should be plenty of references.
My friend’s been trying to get me back into Borderlands 2 for a while. Not sure this will do it, but it certainly has my interest more than other DLC packs have.
